Install driver for printer : Lexmark SePro208

Opensuse 12.3

Linux linux-s3z2.site 3.7.10-1.16-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri May 31 20:21:23 UTC 2013 (97c14ba) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Hi everyone I’m trying to install a new printer :
-I downloaded the software
-I extract the file

  • i run it :
./lexmark-inkjet-legacy-wJRE-1.0-1.i386.rpm.sh install

it gave me an error:

Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing nixstaller..........................................................................................
Collecting info for this system...
Operating system: linux
CPU Arch: x86_64
Error: Couldn't find any suitable frontend for your system

I also went to install it via Yast>Printer>Add
but there is no .ppd or .ppd.gz file in my directory.

Hw can I install it? any help is welcome?

I noticed that you tried to install a 32-bit driver package, but you do have a 64-bit OS. Download the ‘lexmark-inkjet-legacy-wJRE-1.0-1.x86_64.rpm.sh.tar.gz’ archive. In an effort to assist you, I downloaded the 64-bit tarball, unpacked the installer and proceeded to install (as root) with

sh /home/dean/Downloads/lexmark-inkjet-legacy-wJRE-1.0-1.x86_64.rpm.sh

No issues reported, but I obviously didn’t proceed past the printer configuration step (without such a device). Hope this helps you.
