Hmm, I’m still weighing this up, after the defrag I’ll have roughly 111g for installation but I do like my space especially considering my vista partition is where I have all my iTunes for my all important iPhone. I’m thinking of shrinking to 50gb so at the YAST partitioning section should I make the following logicals?: 10 gb for root, 2 gb for swap and the rest for home.

I just find this thing a bit of a head bash, on Ubuntu I just ran them off the same hd (crazy, right?) this all just seems a tad over complicated. I was actually contemplating getting fedora 11 with kde where in the live install I had no such problems. Still my friend is adamant that openSUSE is the best thing going.

Be back in a minute, taking a wonder onto vista.

This should be fine.

Please make sure you have the ability to recover vista and have backed up stuff you don’t want to loose. As hard as I try, I can’t control what you end up doing. If in doubt. Wait. Ask more questions. But I’m hitting the sack now. Be back in 6hrs or less. Usually way less.

Yup. I am thinking so too. Especially for someone like me who is not familiar with setting up a dual boot machine before and very unfamiliar with terminology.

I wonder if it would be easier to set up a virtual machine with something like VMWare.:\ I just don’t want to dish out any more dough than I have too at the expense of something else.

This is going to take a while to get an understanding on what to do.

BTW I have an openSUSE 11.1 disc made by Novell.
