Any pointers on how to install suse on my hardware. All attempts so far fall with no graphics.
The installer works, falling back to text mode, byt creates an system without any working graphics. Live and rescue dvds fall The same way even in failsafe mode.
Hi and welcome to the Forum
AFAIK there is a bug with the nouveau driver, so in the grub boot options add nomodeset should get you to a desktop, or download the nvidia driver and boot to runlevel 3 and install that first.
That’s a pretty new card. I think it will require the NVIDIA driver.
Have you tried nomodeset to get to a point you can install it??
At grub boot or first install menu press e find line starting linux or linixefi press end key to go to end type a space and nomodeset. Press F10 to continue. That will load fallback driver that should work with any card.
Note if this is a note book with both Intel and NVIDIA GPU then addition adjustments must be made. ie. bumblebee or suse-prime
Easy solution for a desktop: remove Nvidia 2070 card, put in Radeon ATI/AMD card, install OS, swap cards, install Nvidia proprietary drivers using text mode.
If CPU has builtin graphics, you can use it for a installation.
