Running OpenSuse 11, and I have a problem that I’ve seen previously on 10.3. When I try to run certain games (and this has happened with Urban Terror and Nexuiz), I get a black screen with a ‘Input Not Supported’ message. Other similar games work fine. I’m pretty sure this is either a graphics card (NVidia GeForce) or monitor (Acer LCD) issue rather than a software thing. I’m using the NVidia drivers and they work fine, plus I’ve tried changing the monitor settings in Sax2 but no joy there yet. Can anyone advise?

The “input not supported” is likely from your monitor. it cannot sync up to
the requested video size.
Try starting the games in ‘windowed’ mode first, then config them to match
your screen size. I’ve found that most games with this issue are
requesting things like 1280x1024, which my poor 1440x900 doesn’t like to
do.
Starting the programs with a ‘-w’ or ‘–windowed’ option, of course,
requesting help ‘-h’ or ‘–help’ is always good to help with options
(I think games should start out windowed always, and allow you set them up
for fullscreen if desired… but … {sigh} If I were Queen… that’s how
the law would read)
