<info> VPN plugin failed: 1

I am relative linux noob. I took some linux classes and had a linux+ certification but that was many moons ago.

So I am currently running openSUSE 11.1 and am having issues setting up a VPN. Its is PPTP and I downloaded all the packets I could find on Yast relating to PPTP VPN’s. I have confirmed that the VPN is up by being connected to the VPN on a different box (running Windows XP Pro SP3) so it is not a issue on the far end.

Here is a snippet of what I believe to be relavent from the Network Manager logs:

May 24 12:38:12 linux-x066 NetworkManager: <info> VPN service ‘org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.pptp’ just appeared, activating connections
May 24 12:38:12 linux-x066 NetworkManager: <info> VPN plugin state changed: 3

May 24 12:38:18 linux-x066 NetworkManager: <WARN> connection_state_changed(): Could not process the request because no VPN connection was active.

If any more info is need, please ask. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Lasted version work already.

I guess this is some knetworkmanager or gnome-nm bug.

Could You upgrade your system to a supported version (preferably 11.4 or wait for 12.1) and tell us what desktop environment You’re using ?
Also when using KDE please remember to switch to the plasmoid network management from knetworkmanager. The latter one is long out of development.

Best regards,
Greg
