Hello! Does anyone know how to import a spreadsheet calculator (*.sc) file into LibreOffice v3.5 Calc? I was surprised
and dismayed to see that it’s not included under the listed filetypes, so I wondered if there was a convenient
workaround or plugin.
Assuming LibreOffice cannot import them - it can import a lot of file types which it cannot export - Gnumeric will import them; so you can import them with Gnumeric and export them in a LibreOffice friendly format. Or why not do what you want with Gnumeric? It has many more functions than LibreOffice if you need a high performance spreadsheet.

LibreOffice cannot import *.sc. Rather perverse IMHO, but there we go…

Thanks for the suggestion. Looking at gnumeric over the weekend, it looks superior to LibreOffice. Of course it can’t
replace sc, because the HJKL-navigation kind of gets etched into your body. And (this is my personal prejudice verging
on soapbox!), apart from constructing and viewing tables, my feeling is that Spreadsheet programs are mediocre solutions
for a range of uses (statistics, graphing, databasing, etc…) but not particularly good at any one of them :).
