I’m going to build from source to play with it.

Packman package this PackMan :: Package details for imagination

Ah thanks, I should have guessed they would.

Pity I don’t have any unwanted guests to annoy with a 200-slide show yet.

Hi everyone!

I tried to find the package for this slidwhow maker, but i could not find it.
Is there any way to install it on Opensuse 12.1.? (I tried with the tar ball but that did not work)

Ps.: I tried the above mentioned link but there is no version for 12.1. The 1-Click Installation did not work.

You could join the Packman Packager’s mailing list and ask that they package this for openSUSE-12.1. Packman Info Page

or simply rebuild it yourself.

Download the openSUSE-11.4 src file “imagination-3.0-1.32.src.rpm” and rebuild it as a regular user for openSUSE-12.1 with this command:

rpmbuild --rebuild imagination-3.0-1.32.src.rpm

and pay attention to the errors. It will tell you WHAT applications you are missing to build it. So after it fails the 1st time, install the applications that you are missing, and try again a second time to rebuild it. Eventually you will succeed.

Once it is rebuilt, then install the rpm you built. I wrote a guide on software hints such as this on openSUSE which is in our FAQ/GUIDE area: http://forums.opensuse.org/new-user-how-faq-read-only/advanced-how-faq-read-only/429157-opensuse-software-installation-hints.html

Somehow i cannot find the src.rpm. PackMan :: Informationen zum Paket imagination This Link does not like me somehow. When i try to download the src it always says: Function ereg() is deprecated.

I already tried to install the tar.gz from sourceforge but i am stock with the missung packages.

./configure says the following:

No package ‘gtk±2.0’ found
No package ‘gthread-2.0’ found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables PACKAGE_CFLAGS
and PACKAGE_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

Hi
It’s not built for 12.1 yet, so you need to grab the 11.4 src rpm;

wget -c ftp://packman.inode.at/suse/11.4/Multimedia/src/imagination-3.0-1.33.src.rpm

Looks like it’s failing to build for 12.1, hence it’s absence

My OpenSuse 12.1 is a direct upgrade from 11.3, Imagination was working fine on 11.3.
Yesterday, I discovered that Imagination is working as before except for I can’t add any background music to the slideshow.
The audio import is not working.

After googling, I found SMILE is another DVD-slideshow creator which I am going to give a try.
Does anyone used SMILE on OpenSuse 12.1 ?

Thanks.

I tried to use SMILE some time ago, but it failed in adding video snippets into the slideshows. I dumped it for kdenlive. But that has ATM an annoying bug (melt always crashes at the end of rendering) too. So choose your poison.
