In my opensuse-11.2 OS on my laptop I had a problem while
shutting down. When I was shutting down with the ethernet
broadband connection on the machine hang at
eth0 BCMxxxx on the message screen. So I had to force quit.
Accidentally I found that if I first switched off the
broadband modem, the message screen completed its
run and the machine successfully shut down.
Though I now know how to avoid the pitfall, I am curious
to know why that occurred.
Thanks.

i do not know for sure, but i suspect it is caused by a bug that
should be reported to http://en.opensuse.org/Submitting_Bug_Reports
