If gfxboot and gfxboot-branding-openSUSE why no graphical grub2 bootsplash?

Given:

:~> rpm -qa | grep gfxboot
gfxboot-branding-openSUSE-12.2-8.1.noarch
gfxboot-4.5.0-1.3.x86_64

why isn’t there a graphical bootsplash in grub2? Will there be in 12.2 final? What can I do to enable a graphical grub2 bootsplash in 12.2 Beta?

Edit: OT>Where did my signature go? I can’t even find where to edit it?

AFAIK grub2 does not support graphical splash yet, at least in openSUSE. I think Fedora patched grub2 with splash support, but not sure about this.
