I’ve followed up your sugestions about leaning a programming language and I’ve learned a lot and in addition to a hight level programming language I’d like to learn more about the low level stuff, like drivers and the kernel etc… I’ve searched the library and gone though the software avalible to me though yast, and the various repo’s, but the latest info I can find is on the kernel version 2.2 or 2.4. I realize that this is a difficult field but I’m sure I want to invest my time in it. I think I could help a lot if I could learn to program (create) the drivers and kernel.
1: Are there any sources for kernel and driver programming out there (Free) that I can look into?

i may be wrong, but as far as i know the only person often in these
forums often who “knows what he is doing” in writing kernel drivers is
Larry Finger, who is most often seen in the networking forums…
oh YES… @ballsystemlord, Malcolm has there named another kernel hacker here
sometimes…
but, i’ve not seen him around since he moved up in the linux world…i
saw his commitment to keep pushing Tumbleweed, but have not actually
seen him in that forum (where he is most often seen, i think)
but, as far as i know he spends more time talking with Linus than any
around here…
