ics opensuse to windows xp

Hello everyone.
I have annoying problem.
I want to share my internet on my opensuse ( 11.1 ) with windows xp.

So it looks like this: internet>> router>> opensuse>> windows xp

First i set in yast>Network Devices>Network Settings, my internet connection ( on wlan0) on dhcp. so that works. But when I set my lan card (eth1) on static ip address, my internet is away.

( under the global options tab in yast>Network Devices>Network Settings, if have set it to ifup, because networkmanager also cant work with 2 interfaces at the same time.)

Does someone knows the answer to my problem?

Use ifup and try the steps in this tutorial:
openSUSE ICS: Internet Connection Sharing (Linux IP Masquerading) with Suse or Windows Servers

Particularly the segment titled openSUSE Server

thanks for the reply
But it didn’t help. I tried this but i came out with the same problem as i said in my first post. when only the wlan0 (my wireless internet connection) interface is setup it all works fine. But when I set static ip for eth1 (lan card) my internet stops.

Ah sorry Swerdna, you was right. I followed the steps in your link and it works now. The problem was that the gateway ( the lan card) did have this ip: 192.168.1.9 while the wireless internet card this ip had 192.168.1.4 now the lan card haves 192.168.5.100 and now it works perfectly
ty man

Well done – glad it works
