Icons on the desktop are sometimes invisible (openSuse KDE 12.3)

I have a strange problem. Sometimes my icons on the desktop will be unvisible after few hours. After a restart the notebook i see the icons again.
A have not installed a graphic driver and a have activated some desktop effects. Can the desktop effects cause this problem?
Can anybody help me? Or should i create a bug report (i think for a bug report the developers need more information)?

I don’t think this is a general problem as I haven’t seen that ever on any system I used.

Maybe it could be a graphics driver issue. Does it also occur if you turn off the Desktop Effects?

You could try to install the ATI proprietary driver, see here: SDB:AMD fglrx - openSUSE Wiki

Thanks for your reply. I will test to deactivate the desktop effects if the problem comes again.
If this have no effect i will try the driver.
This problem comes only one time in few days, so it is difficult to test more things.
Sorry for my bad english…

Which desktop? Is this KDE?

The default install will create two activities for KDE. Is it possible that you have inadvertently switched to the other activity?

Yes, its KDE.
I have only one activity, i had deleted the other ones.
Thanks, but… I am sure: It is a bug. If the icons are invisible, i can for example create a new folder on the desktop and its invisible too. But i can see the new folder if i open the desktop directory with dolphin.

I just found something that would imply it’s a bug in the fglrx driver:
openSUSE – proprietären Grafik-Treiber AMD Catalyst 13.4 als RPM installieren
(don’t know if you speak german)

Apparently you can get back your vanished icons by switching the Qt-graphicssytem between “Raster” and “Native” in the Advanced Desktop Effect Settings…
