I tried to log into my netbanking, but it says that Icedtea (which i can only think is the java program) is out of date. What can one do to update it?
Well you failed to mention your openSUSE version, Desktop version or TceTea version. I see that in openSUSE 12.2, the KDE Desktop is at 4.8.4, Firefox is version 15.0, that IceTea is at 1.2.1 and the most recent version we sport. If you have this then one option is to install Oracle’s VirtualBox, install a compatible version of Windows into VirtualBox and then run Windows for your Banking, if you find no other option. VirtualBox is free and works great with openSUSE. You do need enough memory to keep openSUSE and Windows happy at the same time and some extra disk space and a copy of Windows you can load, but it does all work just fine together.

Thank You,
I mainly use firefox.
If I use chromium, then I get that message that icedtea is out of date. So I click “run this time” and it works.
I’m not sure what is broken. This is with opensuse 12.2, so the icedtea version should be recent. I had a similar problem in 12.1, and dealt with it in the same way.
thanks this worked
