i386 or x86_64?

Hi,

I downloaded and i386 RPM of Oracle Express edition and was just wondering if you can install this on an x86_64 machine??? It installed ok, but I am having trouble with libraries… I am wondering if that is the problem.

you may need to install the 32-bit versions of the libraries that it references. I’ve done that for other 32-bit apps. Under yast there’s a profile for “32-bit compatability” or something like that that will install lots of 32-bit versions. Or you could hunt and peck to choose only specific ones (I’m trying this on my 11.0 install)

Thanks very much for your reply. I will have a look

some you can others not so, it would be more appropriate to post on the
oracle forums but either way it might help if you posted what error
messages you’re seeing.
