I think Tumbleweed is trying to drive me crazy (and it is succeeding)

I have had Tumbleweed as my primary Linux OS for many years and have had very few problems, in fact I use the install disks to help fix other distros
Let me explain the problem (This is a warning as to what might happen not a cry for help) my solution is simple - install another instance and work through the problems. That worked out except the partition I was trying to preserve is going to be abandoned. Main problem is simple no internet access (all three of the other distros have it) I don’t understand how I can use an upgrade disk or stick and have flawless upgrade but after wards NetworkManager and Wicked wont work (both have been turned on exclusively and will not work. This nonsense with the desktop app nm when the system will not load it is maddening. on the working system the taskbar app brings up a window with five property boxes across the top the non working one has non. I can’t say how many times I got messages to report this or that bug (without internet it becomes difficult) I have had so many problems That I could spend the rest of the day at the keyboard but I think my favorite was when I tried to edit a file that I even copied and pasted in the search bar and it told me that it didn’t exist when I was right there in front of my eyes.
The system has never failed before and now I had to spend time

That looks like an upstream problem? What kind of Interconnection do you have? ADSL, Cable, fiber or? How did you post your message?

Are there another devices (your smartphone, etc.) that can access the Internet through the same connection?

Yes, I find (default) NetworkManager also pretty confusing when there are network problems, if there is no (good) network connection it tries to solve that by resetting the network by bringing it down and up again time and time again.

Sorry I didn’t give much information but i was just trying to keep it short,
I posted this message on a windows computer that is hooked to the same ethernet router as the other distros on the Linux computer. (1 box three hard disks all linux flavors on SHA… the problem started when I lost the ability to print on the linux box for no reason and decided the to upgrade with a new ISO.
I have NetworkManager presently shut off and Wicked turn on With no results. But the error messages are so ridiculous annoying. thank you for your interest but if you knew all of the errors you would think it was hopeless to. I’m the guy who fixes other peoples computer problems but for the first time I think I’m stumped

This is an odd thought on my part … shouldn’t this be posted in the “Open Chat” vs “Install | Boot | Login” Sub-category?

My impression from the two OP posts is mostly about voicing frustrations related to having issues … but no questions about possible solution(s), or next steps, or providing tech data, and so on (??)

Good question!

I run openSUSE Tumbleweed 20260709 on several machines without any problem. So if OP needs/wants help they need to provide much more information about their system and the errors they encountered.
