I tried an usb WiFi stick and with this it is working.

But it won’t resolve my problem… I don’t want to use a usb stick.

Eh, I did not read the entire thread, but since I’ve in the past been stuggling with an unwilling Wifi card: does the laptop have a key combo to switch the card on/off ? That was my issue at the time.

It is, since the kernel module is present, can you ensure the rfkill package is installed and run the command as root user;

As Knurpht also indicates, could be a key combo, but rfkill should indicate this…

I tried everything, but didn’t work.
So seems this mediatek card is a bulls**t. >:(
I will replace the wifi card (for an intel card), because this is hell with this driver supporting…
