I had RAID 0 configured wrong (only had it set with one array) and basically installed openSUSE on the one array.
Then I fixed it to include both arrays and now I can’t access my Linux installation!
I had to delete the array that I originally installed the distro on and have the blank one set so I’m running the OS from LiveCD to access my computer!!!
Please help me! How can I format my HDDs and the partitions installation made so I can reinstall!?
I don’t get it. If you are starting from scratch, why not just go ahead and install it. Formatting will come up as part of the install process. You shouldn’t need to format before you install, but even if you do, just format from the live cd. If you can’t format from the live cd, then you have something setup wrong.
Dude you didn’t read my post at all! I already installed it then ****ed with the arrays in my RAID set-up and when I try to boot up my PC it says insert a CD to boot from…
I can’t access my Linux installation anymore! I can only access Linux from the LiveCD…I can’t reinstall it from the CD though because it gives errors now because there’s already an installation but I can’t access it!!!
HELP!
How can I format both of my HDDs INCLUDING the partitions so I can start all over !?!?!?
Hey, lighten up on PenguinMigrations. Your first post didn’t make it clear that you were trying to install from a live CD.
Download the full install DVD. Run it. One of the options, after you select “partitioning,” will be to blow up everything and start over. That’s probably what you want.
Question: What if I wanted to format the hard drives and delete all partitions for a fresh install of another OS or Linux distro, how would I do that?..is there a command I can input in the terminal like there is or Windows in a command prompt?
