I lost the multimedia plugin for Firefox

Somewhere along the process of upgrading to KDE4.2, I lost the multimedia
playback in Firefox and Konqueror. I’ve double-checked the software in
oldcpu’s post for multimedia with no success. I’m using Opensuse 11.0,
64bit.

What do you see here:

i just realized that it’s not entirely missing. Where the plug-in should be
is blank, but if I click on the blank spot, the text “Waiting for video”
appears. (This is for an embedded .wma file, not a video.)
Perhaps the plugin is misconfigured?

Do you want to send the http address for us to try (so long as its suitable)

Well, I’ve made a fool of myself again. I did have the plugins installed in
your link.
I put a snippet of the page up at a site I had access to, then checked it,
and it worked from that site.

It’s most likely not a plugin issue, but how the newer plugin deals with the
authentication differently somehow. …It might just be easier to change
the authentication method on the intended site/directory.
Thanks for the help. I would never have thought to check it on another site.
