I am really impressed with gnome in openSUSE-
I hate gnome, but it almost changed my mind…
I thought the Gnome in openSUSE was alright, but still I just can’t bring myself to use it. KDE just feels like a much better system and doesn’t have ridiculous parts like pulseaudio. Also, I’m not really a fan of Mono, or any “byte” code interepreted language but having exe’s and dll’s on my system instead of real compiled executables and libraries seems weird. I just wish Mono would switch direction and become a real compiler instead of a Java wanna-be.
On a second note, I don’t like Java either, so this isn’t an Anti-MS rant. I just think code should either be interpreted like python or compiled like C. This whole virtual machine interpreter thing seems like a whole lot of extra BS. I’d like to see it replaced by something that could call the native C and C++ libraries that are already installed instead of having to have special *-cli dev packages as well.
Wow its seems to be great
i too enjoy the Gnome
