I installed Opensuse tumbleweed this week and I am using nvidia 3090 and 550 drivers with dual monitor(different resolution and Hz). In cinnamon screen stops rendering for 0.1 sec for every 2 seconds. I searched for the problem but couldn’t find a solution I didn’t had any problems on mint (same driver, kernel 6.5). In KDE screen color saturation slightly changes every frame when I move mouse or anything. It is stable when not moved. In XFCE when pc goes to screensaver or when I logout it either goes completely black and only exit is shutting down with power button or it shuts itself down. It looks like I have many issues with this. I installed tumbleweed so I can access latest versions of softwares but should I install stable opensuse and use software.opensuse.org to install softwares?
Software.opensuse.org is OK for discovery, but can get you setup for future trouble if you utilize its 1-click service to install anything. Typically that process adds redundance to repositories configuration that turns obsolete and causes conflicts. Actual installations should be done using YaST or zypper whenever possible.
NVidia driver users are recommended to use X11 sessions rather than Wayland. Current TW kernels are 6.8.7 and LT 6.6.28. Other than that I have no ideas about your display issues.
