I use parallel port on pci card “Communication controller: NetMos Technology PCI 1 port parallel adapter (rev 01)” and when i installing my printer HPlaserjet 4m plus in yast the connection wizard can’t detect printer it say no connections.Can you help me what can i do to install my printer?Thank you for every one.

Please open a terminal windows, do
lspci
and copy and paste output here. That way we can see if the card is detected.

Make sure you have installed ‘hplip’ first. With the printer connected, open a terminal and configure directly with
su -c hp-setup
There should be an option to option to discover the ‘Parallel Port (LPT)’ device. Follow the prompts given.

If you have printer detection problems with hp-setup, reading this may help.

Try ‘modprobe lp’ as root, then start yast printerconf again.
if that works, read

for a permanent workaround. - the lp module is not loaded by default anymore.

I install my printer with Cups but it not printing correct it printing all kind of symbols.
Please help me again what can i do to work?
