I got question for my gaming~Warcraft Frozen Throne

Hi All,

I’m using Linsys Rounter WRT160N in my room.

Usually I always refer to PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall guides on Statics IP and Portforwarding for my Warcraft frozen throne guide when I on Vista.

Now seem to have problem, I can’t HOST GAME for Dota map and can’t Alt_tAB to open suse 11.1 KDE 4.1 Desktop view when inside warcraft.

can some one help me?

Tks

Port forwarding: Take a look to your firewall settings in YaST.

Even if you have all your ports open in the router (or chain of routers) and in your system firewall, you will still not be able to host a game.

See:
WineHQ Bugzilla – Bug 9787 – Warcraft3 Battle.net Doesn’t work (Needs AcceptEx)

This bug prevents hosting games and has been a bug since WINE 0.9.46 or so. The best way to get around it is to patch and compile WINE with Scott Lindeneau’s latest patch entitled, “General AcceptEx Patch - No Data_length Support”. However, this patch just barely broke with WINE 1.1.12.

There are a number of other ‘workarounds’ that are included in that bug. Most notably the one entitled, “Disable completion port creation” seems to work the best, but I don’t know how that one affects other programs.

See Jan Zerebecki’s fork at:
Public Git Hosting - wine/hacks.git/summary

it includes the “disable io completion ports” patch mentioned above.

Your problem is system firewall port in YAST as mentioned.

I also cannot alt+tab from Frozen Throne.

Other than that 11.1 + wine gives me great DOTA experience.

EDIT: Sorry did not read above post. If you get it working please reply. PS - check out application “snoopy” for WC3 hosting as it provides ping / country tests and Banlists.
