I got a 2 strange error behavior

I got a 2 trange error behavior.

First is at login in got blank screen (not completely of) and i can type in password without me see the login screen and login and then screens get the picture of the desktop.

and i wounder what the hell is going on because it only happens at cold start. I f I reboot then everything is fine.

When i press Shift+Ctrl+F2 i get this error message (please see pic)

r/openSUSE - 2 strange behavior of my Opensuse Thumbleweed

The second strange behavior is that All Yast Program start at Oversize Max size and its outside the screen so i need to move the windows down before i can resize the windows.

Have you always had these issues?

Or did something happen, and now you see these two problems?

(sidenote: zypper dup today resulted in a whopping 2,300+ package update, so wouldn’t be surprised if there are issues)

Always have it sence one or two weeks ago, it start to popup and i did reinstall with latest iso and still the same.

I know i got 2,400 package and still the same problem.

i just wounder what this could be, because i don’t have it other distro with KDE only on Opensuse Thumbelweed.

You need to investigate the journal. Without additional informations it is hard to guess your problem. But there are several bugreports with amdgpu problems…

I think it’s a bug in graphic drivers for blank screen

But the second problem why all Yast programs open in oversized windows (going over screen size) so I need to move the windows down before I can change the size of the windows

Just to help you to the get the maximum of help here.

It is not a good idea to bundle more then one problem in one thread. The discussion will get confused and in the end nobody understands anymore what post is related to which problem.

Also your thread title is not very explanatory. In fact it only says you have a problem, which is very logical because all topics here are about user’s problems. Such a title will not encourage people to open the thread and read the details.

Yes you are correct

Found a solution to both problems and it’s to boot with one Screen on the non of above problem exist.

The problem is not with the Kernal its with AMD drivers that cant handle boot up and login and Handling Yast (start in oversize windows) with 2 monitors at boot and login, and the error looks it has to do with handling 2 different resolution One 4K and One 6K and for some reason AMD driers can handle and sort it out witch monitor is what regarding 4K and 6K.

but if i boot with One Monitor on 6K and after boot and login start the second Monitor 4K then all works super good.

I think it’s AMD drivers or Grub trouble.

FYI the drivers are NOT being used at boot they are not loaded until the kernel The BIOS supplies the graphics at grub screen

Okey
So what can be the source to this behavior.
A) Boot with one Screen all Good 4K or the 6K Is main Screen) alone.
B) Boot with 2 screens all bad and the two problems show up.

I have notice that Neofetch does not detect and show 2 screens resolution just show only on screen the 4K. Why not show the 6K screen resolution, because i did it way before.

The only logical is that during boot some were goes wrong because the first of 2 problem is at login.

Can this 2 problems be connected to grub??

because when only one monitor All is Good!!

Discovered if one Monitor is Display-Port and secon is HDMI then no luck at all. then both monitors or of at login.

But if both are on Display-Port then i have the 2 problems if both are connected at boot.
