I get a missing plugin in Firefox

openSUSE 12.3
KDE 4.10.5r1
Firefox 23

It is from a secure site that has my wife’s pay check stub and I don’t think I have an option to download it.

I had to go to a Windows machine in order to print it,

How can I see what plugin it is looking for ?

When I was in Windows, I looked at the properties of the document and it might be Java script, but then again I have no clue what I am looking at.

I am doing my best to abandon Windoze so please help.

thanks

I looked further into the properties and they are talking about a

DojoToolKit

No clue

What plugins do you have in Firefox?

Unbeatable JavaScript Tools - The Dojo Toolkit

Not that one so here goes.

Hmmm, that looks like the complete package if I wanted to write code in Dojo or somesuch.
Is there a Firefox plugin like acrobat reader that lets me read what I think is a Dojo document ?

I have:
Iced-tea
NPAPI Plugin wrapper
Shockwave flash

Even more weird.

When I rt-click at the document and do the various options, it downloads a few html files aNd a folder with 21 documents.
The folder is “Portal Integration Files” and one of the documents, named a.pdf is the document that I am interested in printing.

Here are the contents of that file and it looks like Firefox is not handling this PDF quite correctly. I have a workaround, though cumbersome so I am calling fixed ! lol!

Ah.

Firefox, since not long ago, tries to display PDFs “inside” by using its
own code. But some sites expect the acrobat plugin instead.

Yes, I have used that trick other times, download a content by the file
list.

GNOME 3.6.2
openSUSE Release 12.3 (Dartmouth) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 3.7.10-1.16-desktop

You are welcome. PDF.js a extremely lightweight is Portable Document
Format (PDF) viewer that is built with HTML5 and it does handle a lot
simple pdfs very well . I use it on SeaMonkey all the time.

GNOME 3.6.2
openSUSE Release 12.3 (Dartmouth) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 3.7.10-1.16-desktop

As I also had problems because Firefoc did not interprete PDFs correctly, I switch usage to Ocular.

Firefox > (second from left, I have only the Dutch translation) > Preferences. From there Applications, you will see PDF down there.

Glad that fixed it, but that extension is no longer needed as it is built into Firefox 23.0 as a feature, and has been since Firefox 19.0.

Firefox Notes - Desktop

I would uninstall it, then restart Firefox, go to Edit > Preferences > Applications, look for Portable Document Format (PDF), and make sure it is set to “Preview in Firefox”.

If it still doesn’t work you could always reinstall the extension, or try the PDF with a test profile. If you try with a test profile and it works, you might want to consider a Firefox reset.

I only have the Flash and iced-tea plugins.
