I can't install Google Chrome

I got the rpm from Chrome’s site installed but when I try to run it the icon bounces under the pointer for a 10 seconds then it just stops. I try to run it through the terminal but I get

/usr/bin/google-chrome: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

So I saw some suggestions online and tried to install the libpng it was talking about and get this:

sudo zypper in libpng12.so.0
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
'libpng12.so.0' not found in package names. Trying capabilities.
'libpng12-0-32bit' providing 'libpng12.so.0' is already installed.
Resolving package dependencies...

Nothing to do.

I’m probably doing something obviously wrong. I’ve just started using OpenSUSE.

Can you issue this command:

locate libpng12.so.0

Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit system ? Do you installed the right package for your arch ?

That doesn’t return anything.

eduardo@linux-ubxi:~> locate libpng12.so.0

I have a 64bit system. I checked the info in YaST and it says it’s x86_64.

try issuing this two then

sudo zypper install libpng12-0

sudo zypper install libpng14-14

sudo zypper in libpng12-0

Remember that with zypper you install a package, not a file - you
specified the library filename rather than the package.

Or read this RPM Search libpng12.so.0

And finally, if all that fails, unless there is a particular Google app you want to access which requires Chrome, install chromium from the OBS.
