I can't find xmms

Hi, is there some repository where I can find xmms for 11.3? (no
xmms2)

Thanks

Unfortunately not - it’s one of the reasons I am still with 11.2.

XMMS is a GTK1 app and openSUSE 11.3 doesn’t provides GTK1 anymore.
Use Audacious, QMMP or whatever other XMMS-like modern player you want.

it is in the packman repo:-

PackMan :: Package details for xmms

works fine

Not for 11.3, only xmms2 which is an audio framework that can be used with a graphical xmms2 client.

Well you’ve thrown me there - as a version from 11.3 must have been on packman as that is were I installed it from!

Right then in that case plan B - I’ve downloaded the xmms and xmms-libs packages for 11.2 from packman and deleted xmms from my system. To install the d/l xmms packages I have changed the repo pointer for oss to 11.2 (from 11.3) on a temporary basis - as two rpm’s that aren’t included within 11.3 are needed.

And it is working fine.

Don’t mess around with your repositories. Check this other thread:
