I cannot access my AP

because the TKIP algorithm is not available when I want to configure my WMP54GS Linksys Rev3 card. I have downloaded and installed the b43 driver ok.

How / where can I find this?

Thanks.

TKIP is available. What do you mean?

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to configure the mentioned wireless adpater and have since deleted and am starting over.

I am starting from scratch.

The problem I was having was that the router is set to accept
conections with WPA-TKIP encryption and this was not a choice
in configuring this adapter.

Can you help?

What information would you like to have?

wpa_supplicant implements WPA key
negotiation with a WPA Authenticator and EAP authentication with
Authentication Server.

WPA-PSK: wpa_supplicant uses PSK as the master session key

  • wpa_supplicant completes WPA 4-Way Handshake and Group Key Handshake
    with the Authenticator (AP)

it’s config file wpa_supplicant.conf can me modified to use TKIP instead of PSK.

The full name of WPA is WPA-PSK/TKIP. What you said above does not make
sense. If you use NetworkManager, you do not need to worry about
wpa_supplicant.conf!

Please post the output of

sudo /usr/sbin/iwlist scan

linux-gv3l:/usr/sbin # iwlist scan
lo Interface doesn’t support scanning.

eth0 Interface doesn’t support scanning.

wmaster0 Interface doesn’t support scanning.

wlan0 Interface doesn’t support scanning : Network is down

Network Manager crashes after trying to configure wireless interface.

I submitted bug report.
