I can burn but not mount a DVD+R DL Disc.

I burned a DVD+R DL disc using Brasero, however the disc is not mountable either from Nautilus or the command line. I simply get “No medium found on /dev/sr0” when I try to mount it. The funny thing is, when I put the disc in a Windows machine, it can read it just fine. Also, I don’t have trouble mounting CD’s and DVD-Rs in Linux. I believe the disc is an ISO Level 3 disc, since it has some large (> 4GB) files on it.

I don’t understand how the burn seems to have worked, but I can’t even mount the disc. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks – Bill.

You could try to mount it as root, to see if it’s a permissions problem. Some cases would require you to add yourself to the group the device belongs to. This is usually group ‘disk’ or more rarely ‘cdrom’. Adding yourself to group ‘disk’ has security implications, however, so make sure you understand them. If you search the forum for “group disk” you’ll find many references.
