Yeah I know, mainly my new keyboard that I am typing on now.
My friggin $60 logitech keyboard had only 8 months of life but nope it no longer functions and I did nothing wrong…
Changed the batteries with fresh brand new ones, cleaned it out, checked the receiver, plugged the receiver in and out, and it was still dead.
Ugh I swear this is the last I get from logitech, I have had it up to my neck in bad products from them.
I know this sucks as a linux user to buy a microsoft product, but I have had better experiences with microsofts mice and keyboards.
My $12 (USD) Logitech K120 USB keyboard is still rock solid, but a little dirty.
Sorry for your problem.
Its mainly logitechs wireless crud that has got me mad, I am sure older and wired keyboards from them are good.
Still using an old Packard Bell keyboard
Must be 10 yrs old

Hi
I’ve got an older Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse (circa 2006), it
was a rechargable mouse, but the charger died, so just manually charge
them, it still works fine. I also have two Logitech unifying mouses
which run fine as well, much easier to connect/use than the older
versions. Plan on getting one of the unifying keyboards as well.

If you want a quality keyboard that lasts forever, buy any Cherry G80-3000 variant, depending on your country and
preferred style. The MX-Blue variant is Vim’s perfect partner.
The unifying mice are good, in terms of mice Logitech is still okay but if you are planning on buying a keyboard dont go logitech.

I had a Logitech keyboard, ps2 cable type. A friend tumbled my glass of
water over it, accidentally. I disassembled it, in order to try to dry
out the innards (layers). Futile. Only the left hand side works, must of
the keys on the right side fail.
It worked, but it was not that good. The labels on many keys are worn
out, meaning that only the surface was painted.
Now I have a mechanical keyboard, Tt esports, by Thermaltake. Feels
good, but some keys are getting fainter. I’m afraid it can also be paint.
I also tried a Zalman gaming keyboard. Keys are retroilluminated with
LEDs; but it turns out that the top keys do not get sufficient light,
except if the room is very dark. If the room is well illuminated the top
keys are quite difficult to read, because the whitish material that form
the letters does not contrast well with the black material forming the
background of the key. Otherwise it was a nice keyboard.
For a mouse I have a Logitech Trackball. Actually, I have more than one,
they are so good. Cable models.

Forgive me if i am wrong but Isn’t using all those wireless mice and
keyboard with batteries(toxic) pretty bad for the environment. For me a
PS2 device(mouse and keyboard) does the job well enough. ofcourse
people’s opinion differ.

Apparently, when you take a dump or a Cow breaks wind… It’s bad for the environment
I’ve never had problems with Logitech.
I had a MX300 running for about 10 years and it was still going until I decided to be the “electronics guy” >:)

Well yes batteries are bad for the environment though there are battery recycling centers and most modern battery life is quite good (ranging 6-12 months)
The one I have claims 18 months of battery life, we will see if that is true.
The keyboard came with a pair of duracell AAA batteries (American standard as I do live in the united states) and long life is usually expected from duracell (though energizer is better on my tests)
Seems that life period is viable though as keyboards are very low power these days unless they are lighted ones.
Plus I can always get rechargeable.

Another reason for me using a wired keyboard is the “A” that lights up
if I hit “caps lock” by mistake. That happens a lot!

I looked at my laptop wireless mouse, and it says Microsoft on top. I had never given that a thought. So I looked at the mouse attached to the desktop computer, same mouse, Microsoft. In my house at the moment there is a network of 8 computers, including all the laptops, and only two of them run Linux. The 10 and 13 y.o. kdz can’t run Linux cos school demands windows. My wife can’t run Linux cos she works remotely from home using mandatory microsoft tools. My daughter in law lives here ATM and doesn’t know what Linux means. I hear the opening and closing windows tones about 20 times a day LOL. I untangle something on one microsoft machine at least once a day in my house.
I’m drowning in microsoft!!
If you thought redmond was failing because of tablets and phones, look that this headline for 23 Jan 2014:
Microsoft Reports Record Revenue of $24.52 Billion in Second Quarter
Double-digit growth in Commercial and Devices and Consumer segments drives record revenue.
Here’s the detail:
REDMOND, Wash. — January 23, 2014 — Microsoft Corp. today announced revenue of $24.52 billion for the quarter ended December 31, 2013. Gross margin, operating income, net income, and diluted earnings per share for the quarter were $16.24 billion, $7.97 billion, $6.56 billion, and $0.78 per share, respectively.
That’s 65 billion per annum profits! We’re all drowning in microsoft!
[actually, come to think of it, I hope they don’t ever fail because so many families would also suffer, probably in the tens of millions of families around the world after the ripples]

I don’t own any wireless keyboard or mice. But a fried does, and he has
to replace mice batteries about twice a month, minimum.

The keyboard from my first computer (a 50 Mhz CPU Packard Bell purchased in 1994) is stored in the basement. Only reason I replaced it with this keyboard was it was dirty and I didn’t like looking at it anymore. The working monitor is also stored. The PC is recycled.

I have an old and heavy keytronic around, in working condition. A bit
dirty, yes. I like it, but it has an US layout, and I need a Spanish layout.
