i’m using a Sapphire Radeon S7 240 and 4GB graphic memory and the proprietary amd-driver (14.1). In OpenSuse games it works fine. If i start a Flashgame (e.g. Farmville 2) i get the information, that hw-acceleration isn’t running and the game runs slow. I play that game with Chrome, but i get the same result in firefox. I have also tried it with opera and the pepperflash. No positive reaction.
Hw-acceleration is activated in the settings of the browsers.
Has anyone an idea?
With sunny regards,
Rainer
P.S.: I use Opensuse 13.1 with KDE on a Gigabyte GA -78 LMT-S2Pwith an AMD Athlon II X2 250with 4 GB RAM**.**
Late to the scene but you should try the chromium-pepper-flash (if you are using chrome instead of chromium you already have this) or pipelight and see if that makes it work.

In firefox with flash, right click on an animation, there is an entry on
the context menu for “global settings” and another for “settings”. On
the latter one, the first tab is “enable hardware acceleration”.
Many of us had to disable it years ago because it caused colour
corruption and other problems. Try if it works for you.
I don’t know about other browsers.
