Print server is running SUSE 9. Client is running SUSE 10.1. Print service is cups. There are more than a hundred printers served by the print server.
When a application such as Lotus Notes, KJobView, or kcmshell printmgr are run, over 600, 4000, and 100 IPP port connections, respectively, are attempted from the client to the server. The application then hangs until most of the ipp conections time out. The hang up can last up to 5 minutes. Lotus Notes also hangs each time something is printed.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
