Hulu, Adobe Flash 10 for 64-bit -- Please add to 11.4 !

I am hoping (begging) that openSuse 11.4 64-bit will make using the Hulu Desktop easier.

The crux of the problem is that it requires the 64-bit version of flash for linux, which, everytime I check, is still in alpha. Currently Hulu only makes a RedHat and Debian package available.

I wish openSuse would add in the full Hulu application in 11.4

Using 64 bit flash is pretty straightforward. Clear instructions are given in the thread:-

64-bit Flash Available Once More

  1. Start a Terminal (ALT + F2)
  2. Be Root
  3. If you have an old Flash and nspluginwrapper:
    zypper rm flash-player nspluginwrapper
  4. Get Flash:
    wget http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l…_091510.tar.gz
  5. Unpack it here: /usr/lib64/browser-plugins with:
    tar -xf flashplayer*.tar.gz -C /usr/lib64/browser-plugins
  6. Restart any Browser and have Fun

you can use the 32bit version of Hulu with the 32bit version of flash, it will run under 64bit fine - of course 64bit also works fine

note: might have to edit ~/.huludesktop to point to location of flash player, at least I did (it asked when starting up)

Moved and seconded. You can download 64-bit flash here: Adobe Labs - Downloads: Adobe Flash Player “Square” Preview Release
