In general it helps when you tell what you are using. E.g. when your problem seems to show up in a desktop, then tell at least what desktop you use.
I don’t have a desktop with icons like in Gnome or Windows, if I understood you correctly. Just in case, I’ll say that I use JaKooLit Hyprland-dots, that is, Hyprland. The problem manifests itself in rofi and in the music selection menu (I don’t know the name of the application).
However, I saw somewhere in the system that it still manifests itself somewhere, but I can’t say where, because I don’t remember.
