A few days back I bought a new modem E3372 with LTE support, but this device doesn’t work with Linux (openSUSE 13.1):(. Any ideas, please?
Welcome here.
It is seldom possible to help where the only information provided is not much more then “it does not work”.
Please tell how you connect the modem to the system, what you did to try to get it to do what you think it should do and how you came to the conclusion that “it does not work”.
We are not looking over your shoulders, thus we depend complete on what you explain.
Please share the device chipset (PID and VID). You can get this info using

Since openSUSE 13.1 is not a recent version, it is using an old kernel and a reasonably old version of ‘usb_modeswitch’, so a kernel upgrade may be required and a newer version of usb_modeswitch (assuming mode-switching is required for this device). The hardware repo currently offers version 2.2.6, but I’m not sure if this is recent enough.
It can be downloaded as a tarball via
and then compiled.

I note that it is mentioned that kernel version 3.14+ is needed for NCM device support using the ‘huawei_cdc_ncm’ kernel driver.
I did the upgrade to Leap 42.1 and everything is fine now. Thanks.
Good to know. Thanks for the update.
