I was following this article along cheerfully, got the 1 click install started since I have one of the chips listed for it (bcm4312)… and the attempt to download from the repository died. It sounds like that item is no longer present… at least not at that download url…

So given that I am a “newbee” to Linux and SUSE… where/what should I do now? I have a completely standard/automagic install to date but I really would like to get my Wifi working…

Tried searching on the above url in the title and got a message to the effect that the url wasn’t specific enough here…

Anything alternate driver url might be helpful. Not interested at this time in compiling/installing a driver. Need a turnkey only solution.

Thanks,
Tom Miller

please notice:

[whatever].opensuse.org < official site, trust it first!!
[whatever].opensuse-guide.org < who dat??

if you wish to get going with your wireless you simply need to read and
follow the advice in the three “stickies” at the top of this forum,
their direct address is:

http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/wireless/410319-getting-your-wireless-work.html

http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/wireless/391535-my-wireless-doesnt-work-primer-what-i-should-do-next.html

http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/wireless/309432-welcome.html

one or all of those will contribute to your smile…and, if after
following them you are still not wireless capable you are given
instructions on how to gather the info necessary to be posted to this
forum where a wireless guru can give you the directional push needed…

let me note again: do your searching inside opensuse.org first if you
can not find a solution, ask here: forums.opensuse.org first, if you
don’t get going then look for outside help…
