HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied.

Hello.

I am about to install openSUSE ot an Eee1005HA following this tutorial:

Installation Guide for openSUSE 11.1 on ASUS Eee PC 1005HA - openSUSE Forums

In PART 1 -> 3) it says after installation of the OS, drivers for the LAN and WLAN should be installed in order to use these cards. Also a link is given to a page where the LAN-card-driver should be available.

Now when I go to this page and click on DOWNLOAD, a new browser window would open and after 5 seconds I get following error message:

The page cannot be displayed

HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

This driver doesn’t seem to be available ANYWHERE else on the internet, not even on Atheros’ page.

I also looked for ways to avoid this browser error, but everything I found were some instructions for web- developers on how to fix their windows web servers.

Does anyone know how to avoid this error and download the driver, or any other place on the internet where this driver is available?

Thank you in advance!

Greets!

Hi
I’m running a 1000HE and I didn’t need to download anything for
wired/wireless networks…

I would say your stuck until the download site is fixed :frowning:

Else google on AR81Family-linux-v1.0.0.10.tar.gz

Hey Malcolm,

thanks for your reply.

I’m running a 1000HE and I didn’t need to download anything for
wired/wireless networks…

To be honest, I haven’t done ANYTHING like network settings in my life, so I am completely in the dark here- I have always just switched in the LAN cable and it worked. Well… doesn’t work here

How do you connect to your WLAN? Don’t you have to use a key?

Hi
The 1000HE runs a AR928X wireless device using the ath9k driver which
has not troubles connecting via WPA2.

Have a look in the wireless sub forum and search for your wireless
device.

The wired ethernet should work fine if it’s a AR8324 it uses the atl1e
driver.

These drivers are part of the 11.2 kernel.

Malcolm,

thanks for your interest. Meanwhile I solved the problem as described here.

openSUSE 11.2 could not boot the system from a boot- USB. This is why I came “back” on 11.1

Anyway, now all my problems concerning the Networks seem to be solved.

Cheers!
