Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP
supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies are installed to
successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package
(.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball has the proper dependencies
installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both
of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

You could try this:
CUPS - Explained - openSUSE Forums

I find the solution ,end it is:

  1. Click on the Application Launcher, choose “Yast: Administrator Settings”, and enter the super user password when prompted.

  2. Scroll down, choose “User Management”, select your user profile, and choose “Edit”.

  3. Under the Details tab ensure that the “lp” group is checked, click “Accept”, and click “Finish” on the next dialog box to exit.

  4. Log out, then log back in, and run hp-setup.

  5. Launch a command-line window and enter:

hp-setup

  1. Select your connection type and click “Next”.

  2. Select your printer from “Selected Devices” list and click “Next”.

  3. Enter your root password when prompted and click “Next”.

  4. Use the recommended installation method and click “Next”.

  5. Check the box to accept with the “Driver Plug-In License Agreement” and click “Next”.

  6. Finish the installation of the printer as normal, however you may be prompted to re-enter your user name and password.

I have same printer ,and mine trouble was that I did upgrade to 11.2 instead of clean install. After fresh install of 11.2 works ok
Make shore that hplip and hp-ijs packages are installed.
Run hp-toolbox (from applications),and add printer (it will ask for your root pass),during process installer will download some firmware, and that is it.
Do not add printer thru yast! (guess reason for printer is not working that way that firmware is missing)

NikolaiSS You are a stud!!! worked for me thanks… :good:

how can i install hp laserjet printer p1005 on my computer using opensus 11.2

can hp laserjet 1020& 1018 work on opensus 11.2?

I have a P1005 aswell and had an issue that it was detected and properly listed as a HP P1005, but wouldn’t print. I fixed mine using info posted here

http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/ - MainPage
http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/INSTALL - Install Guide

Also when it lists

$ ./getweb P1005 # Get HP LaserJet P1005 firmware file

You may need to just use.
$ ./getweb P1005

The HP 1018 and 1020 are listed on that site aswell.

NikolaiSS!

I concur! Excellent info to make this printer work!
