Most hp printers should work once you add them to cups (printing server program).
Did you try setting up your printer with Yast? Start up Yast and go to Hardware–>Printer and it should detect it.
Or you could try following the instructions here: HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP)

Hi
It’s supported in 11.0
http://hplip.sourceforge.net/models/psc/psc_1200_series.html
Make sure you have hplip installed and then run as root user hp-setup.

Hi
I’ve always installed the HPLIP drivers then run hp-setup on multi
function printers.
Is it being detected ok? Try as root user hwinfo --printer or hwinfo
–usb is the printer detected?

Hi
Glad it’s all going ok. Now if you run the hp-toolbox, you can see all
the info about your printer, ink levels etc.
