Uninstall ndiswrapper and use the native driver. At the moment, brcm80211 is not
perfect, but it is a lot better than the Windows driver. In fact, ndiswrapper
should only be used for those devices for which no Linux driver is available.

You will need to install the kernel-firmware package using zy6pper or YaST.

I have an Asus EeePC 1015PN with a Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4727].

On openSuse 11.4 it worked out of the box for me. Like larry said it uses the brcm80211 driver. I haven’t seen any issues with it so far. I use WPA2 for the encryption. It’s been a rock solid connection.

Everything else on the netbook works also as far as I can tell.

Good luck.

so i’ve uninstalled and blacklisted ndiswrapper, as well as installed broadcom-wl-kmp-desktop and modprobed brcm80211 however, network manager still does not pick up a wireless network

Does one show up with ‘/usr/sbin/iwconfig’?

Does ‘dmesg’ have anything to say about your device and firmware? Note: I DID
NOT ASK FOR YOU TO POST THE DMESG OUTPUT!!!

What does ‘sudo /usr/sbin/iwlist scan’ say?

Wht does ‘/usr/sbin/rfkill list’ say?

hp probook 4520s brcm4313

Did you install this package along with the others?

b43-firmware

Hope that fixes it for you, also let me know how your bluetooth is working.
