I am not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but I am having a problem getting my HP6300 series all in one printer to print photo’s with proper colors, all colors seem to run. I have hplip installed and set up to print photo’s and it still prints colors like runs instead of correct.

Sorry to hear of your problem nitewalker41. I don’t understand what you mean by “runs”. Have you printed from Windows with this printer and if so, how does it work? What kind of photo paper are you using? Are your color cartridges new or refills? How long have you had this printer and has it ever work properly for you.
Thank You,
Hi nitewalker41

Is the printer an OfficeJet 6300, or C6300…?

Are you using openSUSE 11.4. Without understanding your printing problem completely, some users have reported issues using the hplip driver (with 11.4 at least), and found better results with the hpijs driver instead. This might be applicable if you have an OfficeJet printer.
This thread is an example of that.
I hope it is as simple as that in your case.
- BTW, did you configure your printer with hp-setup (as root), YaST printer config tool, or did you use the CUPS web config tool?
Printer is 2 years old, works fine in Win 7 and in Ubuntu, problem is that the color’s seem to bleed into each other when trying to print from Open Suse 11.4, not sure of how else to explain it, cartridges are all new, using HP photo paper.
If you still have Ubuntu available, try comparing the drivers in use. Compare output of
sudo cat /etc/cups/printers.conf
with both OS installations.

I am not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but I am having a problem getting my HPC6300 series all in one printer to print photo’s with proper colors, all colors seem to run and bleed into eachother. I have hplip installed and set up to print photo’s and it still prints colors like runs instead of correct.
Have you tried configuring via CUPS web interface?
I couldn’t find your exact printer here:
Printer List | OpenPrinting - The Linux Foundation
No I have not, all I have done is installed HPLIb-hpilis from “software add and remove”
Enter this in Firefox
for admin your login is root
and root password
delete the existing printer if it’s listed and add in yours again
see if it makes any difference.
Also check if the correct paper type (photo, special, normal, etc.) is selected.
It is probably your printer driver is corrupted or missing. You should update your printer driver with a good driver updaterhttp://www.bestdriverupdater.net
