i runned the hp-check -t and this is the result:

thx for the help in advance

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:

  1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies are installed to successfully
    compile HPLIP.
  2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball has the proper dependencies installed
    to successfully run.
  3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

SUMMARY

error: 1 error or warning.

Please refer to the installation instructions at:
http://hplip.sourceforge.net/install/index.html

Your title is misleading; your printer has been found - forget about the exact number - however, there are problems with the CUPS installation. Not sure if, as author of the thread, you can change the title to get more appropriate help.

Nope, he cannot.

i can write it again tho… what should the title be?

Hi there,

This sounds suspiciously like a similar issue I had with hplip and my new printer a while back. In my case it was due to a permissions issue with cups. See the blog post I did on it at HP C309g Wireless Linux Printing & HPLIP - Mine the Harvest

The relevant section is:

Second, once recognized in hp-setup, the step to add the printer failed, sadly giving this error :

Searching… (bus=net, timeout=5, ttl=4, search=(None) desc=0, method=mdns)
\error: No PPD found for model photosmart_premium_c309g-m using new algorithm. Trying old algorithm…
error: Printer queue setup failed. Please restart CUPS and try again.

Turning on debug in cups in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and restarting CUPS, and then doing a tail -f /var/log/cups/error_log showed a permissions issue when hp-setup attemtped to add the device. While there are several ways you could resolve this, I opted for the easiest, and simply modified the policy in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf (It looks like the new Suse / Novell version of CUPS has some more restrictive permissions which you can review in the config.) You can open up the permissions fully by changing the DefalutPolicy to:

Explicitely set the CUPS ‘default’ policy to be used by default:

#DefaultPolicy default
DefaultPolicy allowallforanybody

End of additions by openSUSE/Novell.
