HP netbook download opensuse ?

I have a HP netbook where can I download opensuse 11.2 to install it through a usb flash drive.

greetings
Anton

The download is here:
Software.openSUSE.org

Choose either kde or gnome live cd

Follow this guide:
Live USB stick - openSUSE

Thanks it worked .
But what is the difference in downloading it all are iso files and can not directly used on a flash drive.

I am trying to decipher your question from it’s grammatical inadequacies, but I assume you are asking why you can’t just copy the .iso to a pen drive and it will work.? Or extract all the files and folders from the .iso on to the pen drive and it will work?
Well you can’t.
Why? ----because, that’s why.
Use Google if you really need more info.

Yes I meant the discrepancy or difference in choosing downloading for a DVD or Flash drive. Because they are all iso format files but its no problem anymore.

Tried to Install opensuse 11.2 gives me this error:

Windows partitie /dev/sda1/ delete. Resize impossible due to inconsistent fs. Try checking fs under windows.

I see no problems under windows?

How to create a multiple boot system:
windows XP (NTFS)
opensuse 11.2

solved : ntfsfix and chkdsk/f then reboot twice.

Finally after installing opensuse 11.2. the install is asking to remove the flash drive and reboot the system.

but unfortunately I then get :
missing operation system !!!

Maybe a little late into the game, but have you tried UNetbootin? It creates a bootable thumb drive for you… I’ve not used it with 11.2, but don’t have reason to believe it won’t work.

Also, there are lots of tutorials on dual booting… just Google around for them.

Good luck!

I am now trying a new install.
And I saw that the bootloader master boot record was not selected only boot from extended was selected.
Maybe that was the problem.

Boot from the flash drive to the live desktop and open a terminal
type su and hit return

now type: fdisk -l
post result

and this:
grub

at the grub> then do
find /boot/grub/menu.lst
post result

The new installation I selected during the install bootloader :
selected master boot record which solved the problem.

Now another thing happens can not choose a higher resolution then 640-480.

For your information its a HP 1233 netbook with 1GB memory and C7-M 1.6 GHz processor.
The installer also complains about less then 1gb memory installed.

greetings
Anton

But you are installed now? Yes…?
Never mind the memory thing
Tell us about your graphics device

Yes I am installed now.
I only reported the memory thing.

The resolution should be 1024 x 600
Graphic Device is VIA Chrome9 HC ICP

Tried with sax2 : not enough frame buffers.

Graphic Device is VIA Chrome9 HC ICP

Oh…
What can I say…

I don’t think you’ll get anything better than vesa

From the start menu (in kde you can type in the search field for: sax)
Go there and configure your system to vesa driver and adjust the settings, test and save
logout and back in

Yes I tried that but then I get frame buffer error.

I see that there is a opensuse version for the hp2133 but it is old

HP 2133 Mini-Note PC*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

I was hoping for a good graphic driver in openSUSE 11.2

Earlier you quoted

That ref @ HP is different numbers??

My mistake it is 2133 instead of 1233 sorry.

In there I don’t see any driver for VIA Chrome

And in our HCL
HCL/Laptops/HP - openSUSE

Note point 1) Without 3D

Yes that is true but I do not need 3D
the netbook is fast enough without.
I only need a higher resolution then 640-480 for opensuse 11.0 RC1
to that I have nothing because I want to use opensuse 11.2.

VIA Linux Portal

Yes that is true but I do not need 3D

I only need a higher resolution then 640-480

for opensuse 11.0 RC1 there is :
VIA Linux Portal

to that I have nothing because I want to use opensuse 11.2. or at least opensuse 11.1
