I read about the new kernel 3.6 and an improved s2both feature. Can I use this with KDE 4.9.2 and openSUSE 12.2?

the best way to answer the question for your situation would be to
actually TEST it on your hardware, with your software, and your
configuration…
so, i’d say if you were to do a good backup and give a 3.6.x kernel a
good test, then that is probably the only way to get a definitive,
reliable answer for your setup…
BUT, i wonder if you are asking because you are unhappy with the
hibernation capability you currently have? (i ask because i’ve not found
in these fora a post saying your hibernate is broken)
by the way, there are ways to have more than one kernel installed and
select between them during boot…
and, i believe there are lots of folks running a 3.6 kernel with no
problems—but, check around!!! like here http://tinyurl.com/8o52jqy
Sorry for my unprecise question. Kernel 3.6 is running well. But how do I start “s2both” from KDE without becoming root for every time?

yep…it was not even close to what you now ask.

i could answer if i knew you were using init.d, but presuming you use
systemd (most do in 12.2), someone else needs to step up…

Ahem, I did not touch the system. Let’s assume I’m on systemd.
