HOWTO load kernel module at startup?

Hi!
After recompiling kernel, driver module “e1000e” does not startup automatically after reboot.

Now i added a line to boot.local:
“modprobe e1000e”
but i dont think that it is a beauiful solution.
Can you please tell, what to edit (or what line to add to modprobe.conf.local ) ?

Add it to /etc/sysconfig/kernel, variable MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT
