HowTo doubleclick select word with no punctuation in Firefox

For some reason, OpenSUSE 11.2 ships Firefox with the inability to select only the word in a sentence when double click it. For example, double clicking the last word in this sentence will select the word “end” along with the period at the end. Some, like me, may find this extremely annoying.

There’s a quick tweak for this problem:

  • Type about:config
into the address bar and press enter. - Type punctuation
in the filter to look for and select layout.word_select.stop_at_punctuation - Double click so the value is changed to true
    .

Now, you can browse the web more comfortably on this awesome Linux distro.

Nice tip. Thanks for posting it.

Cheers, not that it was realy bothering me, I learned to live with it, but this is a thing I was missing.
