The various procedures for setting the time format to 24-hour vs. AM/PM found on the Internet do not comport with the current Plasma interface on Leap 15.6. How is that configured?
Right click on the Clock in the KDE Taskbar.
Select Configure Digital Clock.
On the Appearance tab, click on Time Display drop down.
Select 24 hour.
(Sidenote: my machines show 24 hour and are set as “Regional Defaults” … probably dependent on how you did initial install).
It was the fact that it said “Use regional defaults” with an option to “Change regional settings” next to it that confused me.
It can be very confusing, I definitely agree. There are many settings in various [different] options that are very arcane. There’s base system settings, then there’s the Desktop Environment settings all co-mingled. Confusing.
It didn’t accomplish everything I wanted. It fixed the displayed clock, but I wanted the time inserted by, for example, RedNotebook to be 24hr.
With the Leap RedNotebook version simply use %H:%M
to show 24h format. There are also help buttons on the right side, which explains how to properly format the output.
