how to use the new zypper in oS 10.3 ?

is there a way to install and use new zypper from oS 11 with oS 10.3??

thanks in advance!

ps. I hope that this question was not answered before, but it’s pretty hard to construct a good search patterm for it.

Afaik, you can add the zypp:svn and YaST:SVN repos to update
Index of /repositories/zypp:/svn/openSUSE_10.3
Index of /repositories/YaST:/SVN/openSUSE_10.3

You can install it by adding the Zypp and YAST backports from
Index of /repositories/zypp:/Backport/openSUSE_10.3
&
Index of /repositories/YaST:/Backport/openSUSE_10.3

However, this HIGHLY unsupported and it can cause all kinds of issues - including YAST software no longer functioning normally, “eternal installation loops” and other issues.

I suggest an upgrade to 11.0 - it’s worth it.

I tried installing backports on my laptop and it works! speed gain is incredible!!
