Hi,
I always use other distribution of linux and this is the first time using OpenSUSE. Normally when a new version of distribution is ready the UPDATE System automatically upgrade the enterely system to the last version (ex. Ubuntu 11.04 → 11.10 ), is possible the same operation here, or I need to download the DVDs and install it from them?

You cannot upgrade from ubuntu 11.3 to openSUSE 12.3
if you are using openSUSE 11.3 also you cannot upgrade to openSUSE 12.3 directly
Best way is to backup all your data and do a fresh installation using Live ISO or DVD. you can get both from software.opensuse.org: Download openSUSE 12.3
Note also that by default Ubuntu does NOT use a separate home partition which means that you must back up or preserve your home data if you move to another OS.
Yeah, but for many people around the world . Linux is synonymous with Ubuntu. If tell anyone that i use Linux, they ask ask me whether i use ubuntu. Not even a single source asked as to whether what distro i am using. I would be happy even if one asks me a question “You said that you use Linux, but it is only a kernel. GNU Linux is an OS”
