I need to transfer the folders from thunderbird installed on a broken drive …Tools/Import/Import everything has one option for seamonkey but nothing else .tried un-installing and installing Thunderbird ??
All the Thunderbird files are in a folder with what looks like an encrypted name (below the .thunderbird folder). Copy this from the broken drive; then start Thunderbird - even if you do not do anything else, it will have created a similar folder with what looks like an encrypted name. Close Thunderbird and look for the folder with what looks like an encrypted name and copy the entire contents of the old folder to the new folder; do not change the folder name. Restart Thunderbird and you should find everything works (at least it did when I did this for a friend a few weeks ago).
