how to switch out from a full screen application?

Hi everyone, I’m using Opensuse 11.2, KDE. new to linux

today I was playing a game called “BZFlag”, it’s a full screen game, and I saw someone sent me an message on skype and I pressed “alt+tab” trying to get out from the game… but nothing happens, i was still in game, and i couldn’t quit the game, the game wasn’t catching my keyboard input at all…

could someone suggest what’s the correct way to switch out from full screen application?

Thanks a lot!

Did you try Esc.
or F11

the answer is in BZFlag documentation (or, hit Esc and then Help in
BZFlag)

several short cuts there including switching from full to partial
screen, which is F1

but, careful that the small BZFlag window has focus when you wanna go
back to full screen…because if any (say) KDE app has focus you will
just get the help for that app…

visit me on viper.pimpi.org and i kill you! often
